Doodlie-doodlie-doo! This wacom tablet is FUN. Did I mention that? Well here’s another doodle for you. (No reference image.)

😆
edit: trackbacking to Beth, because she said so. It’s all about elephants, apparently.

I’ve just completed the underpainting on this custom cat portrait, and it’s going to make for a great base for the layers to come. I joke around with my friends about my underpaintings, always justifying the colors I choose for underpaintings by saying “well? if you shaved him that’s what he’d look like, right?”
I’ve got a lot done, but have a ton more to do. She’ll end up with another layer of darks, then at least 3 light layers of poofy floofy hair applied strand by strand. She’s a white cat. Trust me. (Her eyes etc. will be further refined & enhanced as well. Whiskers come last, well, right before I sign it.)
😉
Why not. I just turned my webcam on, you are free to watch, but if I hear any of you fighting I’m going to turn this thing off and you can go to your room!
(man, I’ve been a mom for a long time.)
My 13×19 Pro Paper came today for my new printer, and woah. I ran test prints of both the Lion painting and my Viola painting (Antoinette) at 12×16, and they. are. amazing. (The light reflection on Antoinette is part of the painting. The reflection (glare) on the Lion is actual light reflection. LOL)
By the end of next week I will have done a little more tidying up to my gallery, and you will find a properly formatted shopping page that contains both prints and paintings available for purchase and/or commission.
Things are just hoppin’ here! I’m going to go paint now!
And another new toy arrived. And I installed it. And I spent a couple of hours playing with it. And it was fun.
I took a bunch of pics yesterday. And made an animated GIF. And took the girls to the Dentist for their appointment. So here’s a bunch of pics:
It’s official, I’ll be doing artwork for blogs designed by E.Webscapes!
It’s no secret that Lisa (owner, founder and blog guru) and I have been working together on a few projects here in my own blog design, I’ve been painting her critters, and we’ve just gotten along famously.
Her blog and website design biz has just exploded, so much so that she’s just recently hired two new folks to carry some of her load. Now she’s sprucing things up a little more by adding a professional artist (moi!) to be on hand to develop customized art for her clients designs!
If you’re on LJ (LiveJournal) or Blogger, or any other blogging platform out there with an ‘eh’ so-so design, here are a few E.Webscapes resources for you to keep on hand when you decide to put your blog on your website, or just revamp it with a super sweet new layout & design, like mine!
E.Webscapes Design Blog, where I’m formally announced, and Lisa is running a special right now on custom artwork (by me!) as well as hosting specials and LiveJournal deals.
Here’s a list of E.Webscapes services, that includes all this stuff and more: Website Hosting, Website Design, Website Maintenance, Blog Templates/Skins, New Blogger Set Up, Program/Script Install, Software Installation and Upgrades, Site Skinning, Discussion Board Set Up (phpBB, vBulliten, others?), Photo Gallery Set Up (Gallery, Coppermine, more?), Advertising Banners, Custom Logo Design, Custom Graphics, rendered by a professional artist!
Here’s a list of stand-alone items, and here are the package deals for those serious about revamping and moving into something totally one-of-a-kind! Just look at their portfolio – they do amazing things!!
Needless to say, I am very excited about this and know from experience that Lisa and the team at E.Webscapes are in it for the long haul, and their prices just can’t be beat for the outstanding service and functional designs you get.
So there you have it! I’ll link you guys so you can have a look when my artwork is implemented into a design, I am really looking forward to being a part of the blog-design biz!
P.S. I’m still doing my own thing, too! Custom portraits, pets, people, monochromatics, that’s not going to go away, E. Webscapes is an addition to my own services! 🙂
Bacause baby grass is pretty. And soft. And exciting. (To us!)
P.S. Up there to the left is a nice sized Rhodedenderon (Lolo’s friend Ann got me hooked on those), in the middle-ish is a lilac bush that’s struggling, and to the right is an Azaelia, or however you spell it. (Paige got me hooked on those.) This area used to be a great big huge mound of dirt.
Well today has been a moderately productive day. First I’ll give you your eye candy though! This is our pup Chloe, who is so old in doggie years that I need a calculator to figure it out.
She’s a good doggie. Part rott, part shepherd, mostly mushy gushy teddy bear.
Before Mr. left for work this morning we inspected our new growth, like we’ve been doing (somewhat obsessively) since we started planting seeds and actually growing stuff. It’s an exciting thing for us, watching dirt turn green and then running our hands over cottony soft bright green grass. Aaah. We are so easily amused!
The rain last week washed most of our seed into little piles. This past weekend, Mr. roughed up the soil again and we spread more seed. Today we have GRASS! It’s scattered growth, but still. Grass. Green. Grass. YAY US!
We also planted some of those gargantuan sunflowers in the back corner of the yard. This is where my morning surprise occurred today. I was standing there checking out the sunflowers (which have grown to about 2″ tall in 5-7 days), and noticed two squirrelies romping through the neighbors yard playing tag. Or something. Of course I didn’t bring my camera out, do you guys really want to see pictures of sprouting green stuff every day? But I wish I had it. Man. Do I ever.
