I’ve just finished Sheeba’s portrait, she turned out stunning if I do say so myself! I’m going to be painting the sides to match the blanket with a black pinstripe (that’s pending the ok from mom). She’s going to be even more beautiful scanned, lots of details in her fur!

I’m going to finish up Sheeba this afternoon for those who would like to check in on my webcam.

I can’t believe we’re down to 4 days. (Approximately!) Anyone wondering what that second number is for? That’s the approximate final arrival date. Between the top and bottom count (on the Holy Crap Calendar) are days when he will be “in route” to the final destination, which will probably be the cozy sectional I bought last summer. There’s a recliner with his name written all over it, in dry erase marker, courtesy the Chickeymonkey. hehe!

OKOKOK Going to paint now!! (Then I’m going to monkey with my new gallery program, yes, I am!!)

Dog Portrait Completed : Barkley (PG-13)

Here he is, um, all of him! Close your eyes! 😉

I painted the edges a really beautiful & rich brown that compliments his couch nicely. I’m guessing just the edges will take about 2 days to dry before I can even touch it to scan. I’ll get a scanned final image up with details in a few days then.

I’ll be painting for a while today, finishing up Barkley and then Sheeba. The webcam is on if you’d like to watch!

I modified the Mark-o-Meter since we had a little bit of chat time this morning. Aah I feel much better!

    Local News, Misinformation

    2005

For those of you locally who saw the news lastnight, WQAD reported that our Galva unit would be arriving stateside this coming Tuesday. That’s 2 days from now.

    They’re wrong.

I wish our media agencies would take more responsibility when reporting and confirm the information they’re given. You really get a good idea of how erroneous our news is when you’re a part of the story and know the actual facts of the situation. I did write the controller, who knows if they will correct the report or even attempt to validate it, but I didn’t want my local readers to get all hyped up about a Tuesday arrival stateside. To my knowledge (which is often firsthand), my countdown is still reflecting the correct “homeward bound” date.

Welcome back, SPC Duncan, your unit is following just a couple of weeks behind you!

    Work in Progress #3 : Barkley (PG-13)

More work still to do on Barkley to finish him up. What’s finished right now is his ears/head/neck, the pads on his right hind leg, tail, and the base color for the skin underneath the fur on his hind legs. I’ll finish him up tomorrow.
