I posted this in my photoblog so you can clicky to see this a little bit larger (as intended). I didn’t want you to miss this one, in case you’re not a subscriber to my photoblog (ahem), so I’m doubling up the postage.

I only snapped three photos of this guy before he flew off yesterday afternoon – the first two were total blurs. This one? I am happy with. To say the least. Enjoy!

Queue On-hold Music… er, Bunneh. Your new Hostess of the Holding Pattern, Dusty, would like to amaze you with her crazy ability to stand and walk like a human! Yes, she can! Especially if you have a grape.

My post count was at a very icky number. Now it isn’t.

And, just to have a point to this post, I did fill up my store with original paintings and some custom portrait packages available for purchase, so you may click here and go shopping, if you’d like.

    /end of icky number.

    ww.jpgWeight Watchers Weekly Weigh-in #7!

Here I go again with another update, another loss this week although it could have been better, I’m okay with it and I’ll do better this week. Next week I should have a nice pretty picture of a (faux) gold 10% keychain for you. 🙂

    First week: -4.6 lbs.
    Second week: -4.2 lbs.
    Third week: -1.6 lbs.
    Fourth week: -2.4 lbs.
    Fifth week: -.8 lbs.
    Sixth week: -2.6 lbs.
    * * Seventh week: -1.2 lbs. * *
    Total to date: -17.4 lbs.
    10% target: .6 pounds away.

The last week was hurried and rushed and I ate out twice – even though my choices were okay, they could have been better and I probably sabotaged my own goal of getting to 10% this week. I feel as though I completely failed myself the whole week in both my weight loss and my own personal goals, and in turn failed everyone around me. Not that you guys even know what my goals were, but that’s just the kind of pressure I put on myself. I need to learn to let that stuff go.

I did get a couple of things accomplished already this morning, trying to make up for my personal failures last week, so any absence here on my blog will definitely not be indicative of me being lazy. I have a lot to do to get things where I expected them to be, I just hope this week is clear of the hurdles I encountered last week.

Getting caught up on e-mail is on my list of things-to-do, too. I hope you’re all doing well, and thanks for standing by and supporting me!!

    xoxo

    How To Upgrade WordPress

    September
    13
    2007

I ran through several of my blogs yesterday and upgraded them the latest version of WordPress. (Hey, I was waiting for a client to get back to me. I had to do something.) I get asked a lot about upgrading people, and it seems the majority of folks are afraid of messing things up. I’m here to tell you – that’s hard to do. Really. If you can install a plugin, you can upgrade your blog.

I’m giving you a step-by-step tutorial so that you can upgrade yourself. Really, there’s no reason to not be using the most current version, except that it costs money unless you’re willing to do it yourself.

    UPDATE:

WordPress 2.7 and above has auto-upgrade built-in. If your installation requires upgrading, you will see a prompt at the top of your admin panel. Look under “Tools” and select “Upgrade”, and follow the on screen instructions.

    * * * END UPDATE * * *

For versions previous to 2.7: There’s a plugin for this, as well. WordPress Automatic Upgrade is available here. Be sure to read through all of the instructions before use. This plugin DOES THE BACKUP FOR YOU. I recommend you proceed with “manual” steps in the plugin so that you can download the backup to your own computer. 🙂

Without further blab, here’s how you do it (manually):

    ww.jpgWeight Watchers Weekly Weigh-in #6!

It’s that time again, time for my weekly edition of “Holy Hell My Pants Are Falling Off”. Today marks the end of my sixth full week eating foods on the Core food list (ahem, no, you may not count the Domino’s as food.), and I even managed to surprise myself this week.

    First week: -4.6 lbs.
    Second week: -4.2 lbs.
    Third week: -1.6 lbs.
    Fourth week: -2.4 lbs.
    Fifth week: -.8 lbs.
    * * Sixth week: -2.6 lbs. * *
    Total to date: -16.2 lbs.
I got my third star that marks 15 pounds today. My next star is only 3.8 lbs. away.

    10% target: 1.8 pounds away.

So, uh, yeah! WoOt! Holy wowzeroonies, I don’t know what happened! Well, yes I do, I ate a lot more fish this week than I normally do, ’cause I found this phenomenal Coconut encrusted tilapia with papaya and mango that I couldn’t resist. Other than that, it’s been a relatively normal week with the fruits and the vegetables and the proteins and the brown rice and whole grain high fiber bread. These are things I’m used to now, and obviously they work – so I don’t intend to change my ways any time soon.

I cleaned my drawers out yesterday, went through my shorts and jeans and ended up with a nice stack of relatively new stuff that is too big/baggy to wear. It’s been a long time since I’ve done that.

For those of you thinking this is my first go at this – it’s not. When Hubby left for Iraq, I weighed over 200 pounds. I dropped 55 pounds while he was gone, gained about 20 back after he returned, lost the 20 again and held for a year. Now I’m going for the gusto – down to my pre-pregnancy weight from 12 years ago. Since 2004, I’ve lost 65.6 pounds, not counting the 20 I gained back and lost again. I have about 10-15 pounds to go before I reach my own ultimate personal goal, but I’ll keep eating this way because I feel better.

I have to say – this is a nice way to start the week. If the rest of the week follows suit, I should get a lot accomplished. Wish me luck much productive time!

Lulu's Laundry Blog WordPress custom design template
I launched a new blog design yesterday, Lulu’s Laundry. After slaving over a hot umm…mouse all week, finishing up her blog actually inspired me to wash the bedding. Urgh. That’s not supposed to happen. But it did, and the sheets were clean and warm and cozy lastnight, and I have Lulu to thank.

Lulu moved to her new domain from WordPress.com. She’s hosted with BlueHost and for the life of me – I would love to know why on earth they won’t allow their clients to have their own ding-dang favicon. It’s supposed to be there, but NooOOO, all I see is a stupid blue box thing. :grumble: I made one. I uploaded it, BlueHost. Leave her favicon alone!

Did I say that out loud?! Wooops.

So, Yes. She moved to her new domain, and I installed WordPress, of course, and then imported her posts and comments with WP’s cool export & import tool – then stocked her installation with fun plugins for stats and comments and headline images (oh my!). I also imported her blogroll, another fine feature of WordPress – so she’s got all of the features she’s used to, and then some.

Lulu was also kind enough to really point out all the little details that make her design so special to her (and me, yes, me. It’s special to me, too. They all are.), go on over and have a look! Even her error page is cute, people. And the footer? heh –

    Ready to Fly

    Ready to Fly

I’ve been trying to open the door
To the secret of my destiny
And every new road I think is the one
Seems to lead right back to me

I’ve looked for a way to be wiser
    A way to be strong
Now I see the answer was hiding
    In me all along

    Chorus:
    And I’m ready to fly
    Over the sun
    Like a rocket to heaven
    And I’m ready to soar
    Right through the sky
Never dreamed I’d find something to lift me so high
    I’ve always had wings
But I wasn’t ready to fly

    Restless, hopeless, and misunderstood
Like so many others I know
So busy tryin’ to keep holdin’ on
When I should’ve been letting go

I was given the gift to find it
    The spirit inside me
    But I never really imagined
    All I could be

    Chorus:
    And I’m ready to fly
    Over the sun
    Like a rocket to heaven
    And I’m ready to soar
    Right through the sky
Never dreamed I’d find something to lift me so high
    I’ve always had wings
But I wasn’t ready to fly

The answer to all of my wonder
    Was right in my hands
Now it’s time for me to discover
    All that I am

    Chorus:
    And I’m ready to fly
    Over the sun
    Like a rocket to heaven
    And I’m ready to soar
    Right through the sky
Never dreamed I’d find something to lift me so high
    I’ve always had wings
But I wasn’t ready to fly

    I’ve always had wings
Now I’m finally ready to fly

Do not buy this. Do NOT taste it. Do NOT order this Oreo Dessert Pizza from Domino’s if you are not a person with insane Guinness World Record breaking willpower and/or self-control. If you do happen to order it, against my sound expert advise, be certain you have the following:

        1. a glass of milk

        and

      2. a plate at least 13″ across

because you will not be able to eat just one piece, and letting it sit to room temperature or chilling it is just, well, an absolute cryin’ shame.
