My webcam is on and I’ll be working on both Ellie and the horse underpaintings tonight if you’d like to stop in and check on me!
I’ll post those first work in progress shots when I finish ’em up.

MSN messenger is down right now (Mark if you’re around), I can’t even log on. 🙁
UPDATE: Mom just forwarded along an alert from Trend Micro that explains why MSN Messenger isn’t working, there’s a new virus spreading thru IM attachments. If anyone used their service, you may want to run a free online scan there at Trend, they have the pattern files updated already to look for this new one. Can’t those buggers find something nicer and more productive to do with their time? I truly believe that if you’re smart enough to write a virus, you should be in the programming field making lots of moolah. Unless of course they already are, and they’re just bored. Ugh!!
6:51PM – for now, it’s workin’ again. (Maybe I’ll get lucky and get to chat with my guy before he goes back out into the sandbox!)
Here’s another one I’ll be working on this week. Also 12×16, only this is on gallerywrap canvas. This one is going to an 8 (will be 9) year old horse lover!
Meet Ellie, she’s a Brittany Spaniel that I’ll begin painting today! This one is 12×16 on canvas panel.
I altered the hue and saturation (which is normal when you look at my sketches), pencil on white canvas doesn’t show up very well in pics!

I’ll update again when I start painting, just check the Studio Webcam Status over in the left menu.
Being up until 2AM has its advantages, and disadvantages. (it’s? its’? bah, I’m tired.)
Advantages:
It’s really really quiet in the house.
The phone doesn’t ring.
It’s really really quiet in the house. Oh, right, I said that already.
Disadvantages:
It’s eerily spookily quiet in the house.
Coon’s love to eat garbage at 2AM.
Getting up at 8AM.
Falling over at 3PM that same afternoon.
I am going to sketch out my next two pieces, one is a doggie and one is a horse! I’ll post those later tonight.
Meanwhile go stare at my Viola. Goodness she’s pretty.
After the last brushstroke I felt it, that moment hit like it did when I finished my Anniversary Rose painting.
Then I stood up, put my brush down, stepped back and honest to God started to cry. I love this piece, even I am overwhelmed by it. It’s insanely amazing and rich and my jaw is still hanging open and I’m in the other room.
This is one of those paintings where I say outloud “Thank you, God, for this incredible, incredible gift.” I’ve often felt like the Holy Spirit paints through me, and this one – well. You have to see it. I wish you could all see it in person. By the way, this painting sold after I posted the second work in progress pic back in December. Thank you to my client, who stops in from time to time, you will absolutely love this piece. Buy the track lighting. 🙂
It’s about 1AM, wet paint, glare, my eyes are burning. I will get better pics for you in daylight tomorrow.

UPDATE: Here’s a daylight (it’s cloudy and rainy here today, of course.) pic of this gorgeous viola. Wanna play it? I just painted the sides this morning, so I hung it on the top of my floor easel for it to dry. You can see that this ain’t no teenie piece, it’s 18×24, and chunky gallerywrap canvas to boot. You can kinda see my chair in the background and I left everything where it was so you can get an idea on size. When it’s dry and varnished, I’ll wire it and hang it on the wall and get more pics. I’ll also scan it, and you know how different the scans are from my digital pics! I’m still jittery (in an overly-excited and proud kinda way) over this one.

A girl’s gotta eat, ya know? I’m leaving the webcam on, will be back shortly!
I’m back! I’ll continue painting on this piece tonight until it’s finished, so until you see a pic here of the finished painting, my cam will be on! I also adjusted the cam settings, it was really yellow, wierd lookin’. I fixed that.
Oh and if you were watching when I flipped the bird, that wasn’t meant for you, hehe! 😛
