He was doing okay at first, actually reading my profile, even clicking through to my blog to see my work. But then it went south. And oh, so fast. Why? Why do people have to be so mean to other people? Does it really matter that I’m conservative? Does that label mean everyone automatically knows where I stand on every issue? Do I even care what political leanings anyone else has? Uh. No. You can be whatever you want to be, it’s a free country. You be nice to me, I’ll be nice to you, and that’s how the world stays a happy place, in my humble opinion. Even respectful disagreements are better than “don’t choke on the kool-aid.” Bah.

    Mousie Painting Completed

I finished up Taba’s Mousie today, too! I’m feeling so productive, I even prevented a senseless murder tonight – grackle vs. sparrow. I won. Sparrow lives at least a little while longer. Man those grackles are aggressive. 🙁

I’ll scan Mousie tomorrow sometime and show ya again. Cause I like to repeat myself. A lot.

So much for this commission. I wonder if my gallery isn’t representative enough of the quality of my work? Hm.

    Equal Opportunity Mom

Caitibug spent over an hour reading my blog lastnight on daddy’s laptop. She was giggling and kept reading my entries back to me and telling me how funny I am. Well hey, at least I can amuse an 8 year old! She would like to see more pictures of herself on my blog. I had planned on posting this one today anyway, so now when she gets home from school and checks in on me she’ll be a happy little camper. So everyone say “hey” to Caitibug! I’m sure I’ll have some great pics of her over the summer since she’s a little fish. You’ll know her by her goggles and snorkle.

Update: I remembered this pic, so I scanned it in, look at how much she’s grown!! Awwww.

I’ll be finishing up Sissy’s portrait this morning, then working on Taba’s mouse, and sketching out my first order for E.Webscapes! So it’ll be another busy day here!

    Vacation Photo Album

To sum it up, we had a great vacation, the girls were amazingly well behaved the entire trip (all kajillion miles of it), and now we’re back.

I’m going to get into great detail now, so when you “read more”, be warned we’re going extremely graphic heavy for you dial-uppers so I can show you some of my favorite shots from the last couple of weeks! Some of these pics are repeats if you’ve stayed tuned-in during my absence. If you’d like wallpaper of any of these just give me a holler. I’ll throw the wave I caught up here as a link, that one is a larger one for desktop wallpaper. 🙂

**one more warning about multiple images, you may want to click it and let the page open for, I don’t know, 2 hours ought to do it!**

    Cat Portrait: Sissy WIP #2

    2005

I’ve just completed the underpainting on this custom cat portrait, and it’s going to make for a great base for the layers to come. I joke around with my friends about my underpaintings, always justifying the colors I choose for underpaintings by saying “well? if you shaved him that’s what he’d look like, right?”

I’ve got a lot done, but have a ton more to do. She’ll end up with another layer of darks, then at least 3 light layers of poofy floofy hair applied strand by strand. She’s a white cat. Trust me. (Her eyes etc. will be further refined & enhanced as well. Whiskers come last, well, right before I sign it.)

    😉
