    Dewdrop Daisy WIP #4

    October
    1
    2005

I’ve been painting a good chunk of the day today and my hand is about ready to fall off. I started working on this peice a few months ago, and in all honesty it scares the he** out of me. Dang dewdrops. I’ll get to those. (Sorry it’s so grainy, I just realized I had too high of a compression setting!)

Anyhoo, here’s the last work in progress shot of this painting (it’s a biggun’ at 18″ x 18″), and with that I am going to go put my hand in a bucket-o-ice.

    Have a good weekend!

Finished up another 4×4, just a few to go!

One more completed, this is a squirrel I’ve painted before, but this time he’s little bitty and he’s all patriotic and stuff.

    Next up, a Gator!

Another 4×4 “loose” piece, this is a Polish Chicken. It’s pretty hard for me to stop at loose, I’m such a tightly wound realist! My camera does NOT like true blue at all. What is up with this flourescent glow?! My eyes are buggin’ out.

    Will scan later!

This little guy is more “loose” than my usual technique, and it’s intentional. I have a few more of these patriotic paintings to do, hoping to finish them up in the next couple of days. They are all 4″ x 4″, little bitty things.

I’ll scan them when they’re all dry and post cleaner images.

Noodle is finished! I’ll wait until she’s dry before I sign her, and I’ll post a scan and details after I varnish the painting.

    Have a great weekend!

    Noodle Kitty WIP #2

Here’s the second work in progress on this kitty painting I started the other day. This is the underpainting plus one layer, I have another layer or two of fur to go. The eyes are pretty close to being done and the nose is finished. This is an 8″x8″ oil painting, in case you were wondering.

    I painted today!

Meet Noodle, Lolo‘s kitty. Looks like I’m climbing back up on the wagon alright, I admit I was a little worried that I’d forgotten how to paint with oils. I’ve been working on graphic illustrations pretty much non-stop since July 29th!

Thanks, Lo, for taking such an inspiring photo of your baby!
