  • One Purple Heart

    January

    2005

Mark was awarded a Purple Heart yesterday for injuries he sustained from an IED (improvised explosive device) attack on his team in December.

For some reason, saying “congratulations” for an award like this seems really awkward. “Thank you” doesn’t say enough, “I’m so proud” is accurate, but only partial.

I’m so grateful, and thankful, that he is alive to receive that recognition of service. It is just proof that our guys put their lives on the line for us every single day.

I was going to say the same thing – so I will! Thank you Mark! I, too am glad you were able to receive the recognition.

Although these two words aren’t enough to express my appreciation for all you are doing for all of us, THANK YOU, Mark.

Mark, your acts of bravery will not be forgotten. You are doing the most courageous and honorable job for our country. I am proud of you!

Leanne, I’m counting down the days with you! I can’t wait for Mark to come home to you and the girls. He’s going to love what you’ve done to the house. Although he may think he’s in the wrong house when he first walks in! 😆
