  • Pondering for Feedback

So. Has anyone ever asked you for your advice regarding decisions about their business?

    I think I might.

I’ve just spent the morning re-tooling (because not much has changed, really) my ordering information and contact form pages. Why? ‘Cause I must be awfully confusing, but I don’t realize it. I’ve been told that I’m one of those people that’s “hard to get” as in “I just don’t get her”. Ah well, I’m one of those artist types. What can I say. Deep, thoughtful, sensitive, confused, expressive… my mind is wired a little differently, that’s all. What I think makes perfect sense ends up only making perfect sense to me! Okay and a few cherished others, trust me when someone understands what I’m saying, I grab on and don’t let go. (Unless that person uses force, well then, I run and hide under the nearest table. But I digress.)

Help me out here, wouldjya? Does my ordering information page make sense? Is my contact form clear? Is it obvious to the passer-by that I’ll paint anything for money?

I tried really hard with this new design to tie it in to my gallery so that it would be “seamless”. So that visitors to my gallery would be prompted to come here to my blog, and so that my blog visitors would go “hey, look at that menu up there! There’s more than just a blog!” So are you doing that? Have you SEEN my gallery? Do ya care? :sniffle:

Then there’s the issue of sales and specials. Sheesh. That’s a toughie.

I’m stuck at the moment. Any suggestions? Are you waiting for me to have some amazing giveaway or sale so you can order something?

Seriously, I’ll take everything into consideration. Got any ideas?

I just took a look at your paintings and I must say, you truly are artistic! I’m sorry to say that I don’t think I’ve ever viewed them before. I think your ordering information is clear, unfortunately I couldn’t afford anything right now.

I like your work. Very nice and am thinking about the picture with the frog.

Have you posted any of your work on portfolio.com yet?

I took a look at your custom ordering section, etc. There wasn’t any questions that came up that were not covered. I think your web site is excellent. I know it must be disappointing when sales fall off, but everything contracts and expands. Perhaps you are simply going thru a contraction of sorts. (Or perhaps you need to cultivate :pleasantry:richer:pleasantry: friends to promote more sales.) What about doing those little tiny paintings (on paper?) to have a wider range of pricing… you know, things that go for $20 or so… five of those sales would equal $100. That’s the only thing that comes to my mind.

I’ve looked at your ordering info before, contemplating a custom portrait of my elderly Collie, Tess. So, I looked again. Still clear to me! :good:

Your prices, like your work, are very good. I’ve been to a lot of dog shows where artists set up booths to solicit work, and your prices are competitive with them, if that helps. I’ve seen some awesome work at shows, so I hope you don’t think I’m judging you against inferior artists. If I am, don’t mean to. At.all.

I think where people may run into trouble is the detailed explanations you provide, from payment and subject to some ‘how-to’ tips. I like it, I think it’s necessary, but I also know that many among us have the attention span of a snow pea, so never get halfway down the page. :winking:

    Anyhoo, those are my :2cents:!

I “get” that you want me to visit your gallery. And I have. But I love the written word more. No offense. I love you, all of you (breaks out the chains and handcuffs), it’s just that words turn me on more. *watches you run away and hide*
