I picked up a new suit yesterday (ordered from Victoria’s Secret), and grabbed a screenshot to get some opinions – on the pattern, of course!

I have no delusions about what I look like in a bikini (obviously, since I’m not the one modeling the dang suit, am I?), and yes. I bought the sarong. Shut up.

I’ve had children, I’ve had a reduction, and from the belly button up, I’m not too bothered by what anyone else thinks. I’m a belly girl, what can I say. Belly buttons, feet, and baby butts are the cutest things God gave us, in my personal opinion, but that’s another topic for another day.

So. I wanted a different pattern, but that was on backorder. So I chose the brown gypsy floral. My girlfriend thought “iew”, my hubby thought the black pattern was cuter (and that I should have waited, pfft – patience is NOT a virtue of mine!), and now I leave it to you. I’ve already bought it, mind you, and you’ll never even see me in it. I swear. Unless, accidentally, my hubby manages to pry my camera from my cold dead hands and photograph me in it, and then blog it. But then I’ll be dead, so what do I care? Now I’m rambling.

I picked the pattern – and this is very important information – because it reminds me of the artwork of a friend of mine, Lolo (aka Lori Rase Hall) – she’s the one who drew our matching tattoos for us. That’s why I really wanted the black, because it’s much more like something she would draw. So go see her awesome drawings before you tell me I’m a freak and I’m gonna look like a big blob of paisley doodle.

What kind of swimsuit do you have waiting for summer? Are you a one-piecer, two? Are you a tankini girl? Or do you wear a sweater and long pants (read: are you from Wisconsin)? Prints or solid? Do your ears hang lo, do they wobble to-and-fro? Do you tie them in a knot? Can you tie them in a bow? Have I asked too many questions? I’m oh-so-curious!

I am not the gal I was 20 years ago and proud of my body… now you won’t catch me dead in a bathingsuit of any kind. Maybe, just maybe (blue moonish) you will catch me in bike shorts and a tank top LOL… oy! 😯

I love the brown. Brown is the new black this season anyway. Black in chlorine tends to discolor into a blueish fadey hue. It’ll also offset that horrid burn from yesterday.

Lori’s drawings remind me of that craft when I was a kid where you have the colored paper underneath and the black wax over top. Then you carve into the black wax to get the really cool designs. Her detail is awesome.

    Here’s my suit

Definitely a one-piece kind of gal. My tummy’s so white, it’s blue.

Hey, having a birthday party at my place today. You’re invited.

i have a backless tankini that I bought last year. It’s blue and white. Normally, I’d go for black, but this pattern was so pretty. I’m not a fan of showing my tummy. But I have a bikini, too, for pool sunbathing. I’ll untie the neck strap to avoid lines. 🙂

I like the brown with the aqua blue. I think it’ll be nice.

I like the brown as well… :good:

*I* am pushing 50 and would not be caught dead in a bathing suit. When we go out in the boat I’m wearing shorts and a tank with built in shelf bra. That’s the closest I get these days… [sigh]

I love the brown/blue….very in this year! :good: As for me…I am a one-piece gal and that is if you can catch me in a bathing suit at all! My girlish figure that I miss so much, is somewhere in here…I just haven’t found it yet. :shame:

Oh, and by the way it’s:
    “Do your boobs hang low
Can you tie them in a knot
Can you tie them in a bow
Can you throw them over your shoulder
    Like a continental soldier
    Do your boobs hang low?”

Yeah I can relate to that song real well! :giggle:

i was shopping with my oldest daughter on the weekend and brown is definitely in, i couldn’t believe how much of it we saw out there, shorts, skirts, pants, polo tops, it was everywhere.
i wear a two piece, i’m a “reasonable” size considering i’ve had three kids and when i go to a pool party, i have a couple of drinks and really enjoy myself, two piece bathing suit and all. my bathing suits are always colourful, big surprise huh?

Will you put on some darn sunscreen when you wear this suit?! Love the brown by the way and to satisfy your curiosity I have 5 suits, 2 tankinis, 3 bikinis. 1 moss green, 2 black, 1 pink/orange floral, 1 aqua/lime stripey. I wanted a new one, but we are going to WY for vacation this year and won’t be swimming so I can’t quite justify it. I am justifying the new hiking shoes I want though! Hugs, clara

I’m recommending SPF 50 for you after seeing that sunburn! At least till your tan settles in. I really love that suit and I think I”ll go check it out. I think the blue would work on me… we’ll see.

I equate trying on bathing suits with getting a root canal done.

I’m still cringing over the sunburn… seriously! I like the pattern/color you chose.
My suit is new too… cuz i needed a bigger one… ack! It’s Lands End and it is a one peice (the ONLIEST kind I wear) but it’s got dark on the bottom and cute print on the toppish… I actually don’t absolutely hate it. How’s that for reassuring?

Love the pattern. Love the color. But I have always been attracted to the more colorful designs in swimsuits. I haven’t worn one in years. Don’t buy them, don’t get in the water. So I wear shorts and a tank or tube when I am near the beach.

That isn’t you in the picture? Dang, I have been out of it. Love the brown and you will be totally fabulous in anything . As Mama Cass used to sing, “You’ll have the boys all lining up single file, If you just wear your smile!” Yellow Rose is my sister and we sing alot of oldies in our family. :giggle:

I have not had a new suit since I got married (14 years ago). And, I am not going to get one, swimsuit shopping is a trauma I can live without. :jawdrop: I like the brown pattern.

Well, I am not a paisley kind of girl, but her drawings are beautiful. I will be off to buy myself a suit before my trip to Florida next month. I will take a picture of it and post it if I am not ashamed and if I am ashamed, I will just send you a picture. I prefer one pieces, but I might go the tankini route if I find just the right one. We will see.

Was just ‘googling’ if patterned or plain b.suits look better on 40ish women…. came across your website! Love it.
Beautiful photos & art. Total coincidence that I was looking at that exact brown paisley bikini on Victoria’s Secret website just moments before! My 7 year old daughter really liked the pattern. Maybe I will order it now. Have now made your page a favorite. Greetings from Kelowna, B.C.,Canada. :dog:
