I didn’t realize until I started cropping and resizing this morning that all of the photos I took in my wildflower garden lastnight, although each a different flower, are very much alike. I’m wondering if I was attracted to them photographically because of their common color scheme? Regardless, I took all three lastnight without a conscious thought about how well they all go together. I was more inclined to get photos of my sunflowers so that I could have a little record of how they bloom, as I’ve wanted to paint a sunflower for quite some time.
The bug, well, he was just a well-positioned guest in my eyes. Hey there! Don’t jump! It’s not worth it!

I love sunflowers and most wildflowers. Nature does it better than we can with our hybrid roses for sure. Thanks for spending a little time with us while we were there. We enjoyed dinner and relaxing. We really had a nice time. Sorry it was so short, but its good to be home. Come see me soon, huh? Hugs, clara

I’m with Clara… I LOVE sunflowers. I remember the first time I saw one up close and personal. I was amazed… all the little seeds lined up so perfectly. I had never stopped to think once about where sunflower seeds came from…well DUH…I was in awe of nature.
I was in my thirties before I saw how brussel spouts grew on a stalk… I just thought they were tiny cabbages. I’m a city slicker, can you tell?
Clara – We LOVED seeing you and miss you guys already!! We’re most certainly going to be planning a road trip, soon!
Phoenix – I’m using a Panasonic Lumix (DMC-FZ20), I bought a LOT of accessories (they call it a pro package, but if I got the Pro camera I wanted I’d have needed to take out a small business loan!). This is a “semi-pro” setup.
Sue – I did use the floral macro mode. 🙂
Sandra – I had NO idea brussel sprouts grew on a stalk! I mean really! Who would wanna grow those things? IEW! 😆

Floral art is precise art- for me, that is the attraction. The symmetry and individuality are at once, unique – the perfect expression of balance. Even the imperfections, at times, of color or shape, are also balanced. The unpredictable balance of nature.
