    My other Thirteens
    1. I think Hugh Laurie (House) is adorable, snarky and brilliant. I love how he plays his role on House, and I :gulp: think he’s cute. (What is wrong with me?) That is the only show on television that I have. to. watch. I get grumpy if I miss it.

    hugh laurie
    2. Another show we like NUMB3RS. My hubby and I both enjoy this one, he likes the math, and I like the boys.

    3. Sigh. Those are the only two shows that I watch with any regularity, really. I catch CSI on occasion, and Law & Order SVU – but there again, I watch it just for the boys:

    4. I haven’t really been able to watch much of anything since we started ripping up the house. Our TV has been in in the dining room for a month, and we don’t have cable in there.

    5. It’s been interesting to see how the girls occupy their time with very limited television. They’re really creative girls, and love their Littlest Pet Shop playhouse and critters. Seriously, who wouldn’t love these little things? They’re adorable.

    6. I’ve been occupying my time with shopping for supplies, carting around insulation and lumber, ordering switchplates and metal cutting blades for our sawzall.

    7. And also getting the skinny on a house we adore to figure out if we really, really   want to bid on it. It’s amazing. Well, it could be amazing. It needs a lot of work. We like work.

    8. I had another version of this week’s 13 written lastnight, but it will remain unpublished. Feels good to have gotten it out of my head though, and it was funny, in an “effed up” stalker-y kind of way.

    9. I had another dream lastnight that I remember well enough to blog in my dream blog, but really, it was about shingles and diarrhea. People were sick, and it was smelly! Yes I remember smells from my dream. Kinda smelled like my front yard, but that’s another story for after we move far, far away. Anyway, I’ll spare everyone the dream and hope for a better dream tonight.

    10. We’ve had rain, rain and more rain here over the last couple of weeks. The other day, I was determined to mow the front yard – it was long and thick – and my mower about died trying to cut it. Also, while I was cutting the grass? Torrential downpour, three rows to go. Ugh.

    11. I haven’t had to water my glorious floral landscaping in a week. There’s one great thing about all the rain! I love how fresh flowers look after a nice rain.

    12. I am having a hard time thinking that one of the rooms in our home is going to be white for a few more days. I cannot. stand. white. walls. I am tempted to throw some food coloring into the joint compound. It works, trust me, I’ve done it before.

    13. I am still trying to find a floor. If you run across a nice one, wrap it up and send it my way, would you? What the heck. Carpet or Hardwood? Linoleum layered hardwood looking plank stuff, or vinyl? I am so ready to just chuck the decision making out the window and buy some peel & stick – you know?

Happy Thursday! Thanks for stopping by!

    Gold Gerbera

For all of you daisy lovers, here’s another one from my garden that I photographed yesterday. Just to prove not all my daisies are pink!

And for Clara, who wants to know the status of that Dewdrop Daisy, and others who want to know what she’s talking about, it’s here, and it still looks like that. Why? Because I approached the piece all wrong, and every time I thought about painting more on it I stressed myself out. It wasn’t worth it. I still have the unfinished work, but it’s stored now, and maybe I’ll try again on a fresh canvas if I can work it through in my head first.

I have also been having difficulty remembering my dreams lately to blog them. Lastnight, however, was a doozie and I remembered most of it. I’m hoping that dream is truly just a dream!

    Photoblog/Gallery Design

I finished the custom design and installation of M. Dawson Photography‘s new gallery today. Fellow bloggers (or surfers of my blogroll) may be familiar with her work, maybe you aren’t – either way, her new gallery is fresh off the launch pad and will be up to speed soon with all the eye candies required to propel this lady into an amazing career in portrait photography. She has an incredible talent and I’m so glad to help her create a place that focuses on exactly that!

    Have a Daisy Day

Another Pink Gerbera Daisy (a next-door neighbor to this guy here) opened up and enjoyed a brief shower of sunshine yesterday. We also had our very first Primrose bloom in a sea of what look like weeds right now.

    Survey says:
Some people are really grossed out right now.
Some people have an insane desire to start peelin’!
Some people are wondering if I’ll ever remember to put sunscreen on before I go out.

    What say you?

I normally don’t share my doodley sketches, but got to playing with small sections of the three I’m working on and thought I’d give you a little glimpse of my sketchbook in its own artistic form. This will be the only work in progress of this one that I’ll share, I’ll show them again in their final form. I am also putting together a photoblog/gallery design for an amazing photographer that you’ll get to see and visit soon as well.

I hope your weekend is wrapping up nicely.

It has been chaos around our house today. This morning, Home Depot dropped off a truckload of materials at 8:30AM. Shortly after that, our neighbor knocked on the door and (I thought he was going to get all neighbor-nosey and ask what we were doing to the house), he told me that since I’m such an animal lover, he thought I’d like to know that there’s a great big german shepherd loose in our backyard.

    Foxglove Fairies

Remember my Foxglove flower photo from just a few days ago? Well. Miss Erikie has been selectively teasing me about painting from one of my photographs for quite some time. Finally, she did it! It’s listed for sale, for far less than its worth, so if you have some spare change and love Foxglove, Fairies and watercolors, go on and bid on this sweet little floral painting at eBay!

How neat to have a painting influenced by two artists, eh? It turned out so cute!! Well done, Erikie!!

    Foxglove & Macro

I planted this floxglove a week or so ago. (You can see it in the front of the 4th pic here.) I picked one that wasn’t on the verge of blooming because I like to wait. I like to know whether or not something I planted is going to make it, you know? I have a brown thumb, believe it or not – so that my yard is such a deep shade of green with splashes of such beautiful color and interesting flowers is very unusual to me and it’s taking some getting used to.

You’re one click away from a macro foxglove water droplet shot.
