    Bloggin’ it today

    December

    2004

    Good morning! 😀

I’m going to work on the new blog today, try to get my archives moved over and stuff. I’ll paint tonight, after the girls go to bed. So if you wanna watch, plan on about 8:30PM CST! I’ll be back around then and update when I begin.

    Have a great afternoon!!

P.S. After my commissions are finished, I’ll be painting (quite) a few new pieces! I’d like to paint another Red Tailed Hawk – I have a few more reference photos that I took that are amazing. I’ll also work on a series of smaller rose paintings, 6×6 or 8×8 size on gallery wrapped canvas. If you’re looking for something in particular, let me know!

    Bailey WIP#2 & Stuff!

    Whew! I’m sitting down!

As promised, here’s the second work in progress of Bailey’s portrait. ‘Auntie M’ recommended red, so red it is! 😉

Just as FYI, the holiday gift basket giveaway has ended and the winner has been contacted. If we don’t hear back within 3 days, the runner-up will get the prize! I’m hoping to be able to send out an announcement when we hear back, and then of course everyone who entered will get special pricing on custom portraits for a designated time. (After the holidays, sorry! I’m booked right now!)

I continued to “de-clutter” today, and you know when all the clutter is gone, it just looks so bare? Yea. Well I solved that problem this afternoon. LOL! Leave it to me, never an un-creative moment in my life. Here’s what I created this afternoon…

I wanted some color! It was all white back there behind those shelves. Blah. And blah is not allowed in my house. ;P~

Now I’ve got some webdesigning stuff to do tonight, so I will catch up with you tomorrow! Have a great evening!!!

I know you guys have been waiting for these! “J”, if you want the big versions just let me know, and I will drop them in e-mail to you!

I have been BUSY this morning! Got up (earrrrly), treadmilled, varnished WB&F, did dishes & cleaned the kitchen, did laundry, started uncluttering the house, paid bills, painted the background on Bailey (which I will post in a little while), scanned WB&F, pieced the scans together and now here I am!!! I still have more to do!! I’ll be back in a bit. Enjoy!

    Blogger Aggravations…

    November

    2004

I had one too many problems today with blogger.com publishing my entries et al.. so I installed a new blogging system on my server! YAH! It only took a minute to install it, but getting everything set up (template, entries, archives) is going to take a while. I’ll just do a little bit each day and when it’s ready to go you’ll see some slight but very cool changes to my blog.

    Perks:
    – Smileys!
    – you don’t need an account to post a comment.
    – a search tool to search just my blog archives.
    – post categories.
You can see where I’m going with this…up up and away!!

I’ll let you know when it’s far enough along for you to have a peek. I am HOPING I don’t need to do an address change, and will do everything in my power to make it work at this location! If not, I’ll do a reroute on my end so you don’t have to change your link if you’ve got me linked. It’s kinda like moving your office from one end of town to another, but staying in the same building. heh! ;D

    What day is it?!

    2004

Did you ever have one of those days? It’s 3 in the afternoon, you walk over to your computer, sit down and realize that the day is almost over, and you wonder what you’ve been doing that’s taken this long?

I’ve been tending to my wounds today, which I didn’t think would take as long as it did. 😛 I’ve been trying to potty-train my 10-year-old little 3-year-old who has decided that she would rather pee on the kitchen floor and hide under the dining room table. I’ve been painting B&F in my head so that when I sit down to paint tonight I will be able to get far enough along to finish this painting by the beginning of the week. I’ve talked to Mark for a little while, I’ve drooled as I thumbed through my new Coldwater Creek catalog, I’ve pondered the meaning of life & counted my blessings, and I’ve taken some macro shots of the beautiful bouquet of flowers that were delivered just shortly after I arrived home from the hospital Tuesday. Boy they are beautiful, and aromatic to boot! Here’s your eye candy for the day:

Stargazer Lilies are my favorite. I could bathe in their aroma, I truly could.

I will be hanging out with Jay for the afternoon, and once I get her tucked in tonight I will update and turn the webcam on. I plan to paint from about 8:30PM CST until about Midnight.

    See you in a bit!

    WB&F WIP #6

    2004

I worked on W’s arms today, and still need to highlight & shadow more. I also finished up B&F’s eyes and started to map out the highlights on their faces. There’s a night-time flourescent glow that I partially removed, and will try to get a better pic on Friday in daylight.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving!! Happy Turkey day, everyone! Eat well, enjoy your family and count your blessings!

    Wile E. Coyote

    2004

A few months ago, at Mark’s request, I created a stencil of Wile E. Coyote for the guys to use on their equipment etc. as that is their call sign. Apparently, the stencil is reallly popular over there, Mark says they’ve painted it on refrigerators, machinery, all kinds of things. It sounds like it’s become a “this is ours, hands off” symbol. LOL

So he’s been saying for months that he’d get me some photos of it, and here ya go. I’m just going to link them here:

    Wile E. Coyote Humvee1
    Wile E. Coyote Humvee2
    Wile E. Coyote Bradley

Pretty neat to see it all over their stuff! Even though the character isn’t my creation, I searched everywhere for a stencil to purchase and couldn’t find one. Sorry Warner Brothers, the guys want a coyote, they get a coyote! (P.S. I’ve not made any profit from the creation or personal use of this piece.) LOL.. just covering my artistic butt there. ;P

It’s a clear day, I took another digital pic of W and modified the last WIP entry. I’ll paint today, the girls should be ok. (I hope!) I’ll update when I turn the cam on!

    Annie Scan

Here’s Annie’s scan! It is reeeealy hard to pick up the vibrancy of French Ultramarine on a flatbed! But still, she’s a beaut!

    Her pic:

I had planned on shipping evvvverything today, but a couple of them still need some drying time. I’ll work on getting the others on their way this morning!

In other news, I’ve joined a few other very cool creative women to offer up a gift basket of very very nice goodies for the holidays! You can enter once at each of our websites, and if you wanna start with mine…the link’s right here:
