Painting on Cam & Other Stuff

    November
    12
    2004

    Good morning!

It’s just past 8am, the webcam is on and I will be painting shortly!

I had a couple of other things I keep forgetting to tell you about, too.

First, I uploaded a new page to my website, 2004 : At a glance

The fall months make it increasingly difficult to keep things updated in my galleries. I thought having that whole grouping of paintings all in one place would show browsers all of my paintings just from this year, especially since some of them aren’t even in their appropriate spots yet! After the holidays I will go through and revamp some of my galleries so they make even more sense. 🙂

The other thing, remember Monday (I think?) when I said I was starting my program again? Well ta-da! I’ve been treadmilling and drinking 64 oz. of water a day, and I’m already down 5.5 lbs. See how cool that works? It won’t be long before I’m at my final goal.

Ooh yea, my holiday commission schedule is fully booked now, so if you’re wanting a custom pet portrait as a gift I will still honor my sale price until the 15th but replace the actual painting with a Gift Certificate instead. Sound ok to you?

Painting early today, I’m going to try to finish up these kitties today before my afternoon appointment. Have a great day!!

Carly Sue – Scan & Reference Photo

    HERE she is…

The flash & background really washed her colors out in this photo, and mom had sent a dozen or so to work from so I enhanced her colors using another photo that didn’t make her eyes and coat look “pale”. 🙂

I’ve got some treadmilling to do before I start painting this morning, so I’ll update when I’m ready to start. Yeaaah, alright I’ll paint on cam. :P~

    Technical Difficulties

Sorry for the temporary outage, folks. My site went down probably shortly after midnight, obviously I got everything fixed and I’m up and running again!

I’ll be working on Carly Sue off cam today. I’ll post the final portrait when it’s ready.

    Have a great day!

    Hard Drive Happy :P

    2004

Mom’s hard drive crashed on her lastnight, so of course that put me in panic mode.

We had a good day today, I took the girls to the mall and we wandered around, had lunch, bought some dollies and went to Grandma’s house. We hung out this evening, and now they’re tucked in and I’m moving all of my art files to CD! I had been planning on doing it for a few weeks, and when mom said hers crashed and she can’t access anything on it, it inspired me to get my stuff done. 😉

So for all of you with valuables on your hard drives, back ’em up!!

I’m not sure what we’ll be doing tomorrow yet, but I’ll let ya know.

    Have a great night!

    Saturday with the Kids

I really wanted to spend some time today on all three of my current paintings and get the eyes done, but I can’t. They’re still tacky, so I will have to wait until late tonight or tomorrow to work on them. Bummer!!!!

That’s alright though, after lastnight’s household drama we (the girls and I) need a day out. The sky is crystal clear today, it’s chilly now (34?) but supposed to get up to 65, I have a couple of new cozy sweaters I picked up from Kohls.com, so I am ready to get outside and sieze the day!

I’ll be back later on and let you know if/when I’m turning the cam on. Sorry for yesterday’s confusion, too. I had initially started on my own hosted webcam program but because one of my clients can’t view it there I switched over to the Yahoo hosted cam program. So I added some text on my cam page (intricateart.com/webcam/) and linked to yahoo in case that happens again. I wish there were a program that I can guarantee 100% of my viewers will be able to load it without a problem!

I leave you with a gorgeous yellow rose from my beautiful huge bouquet!

Last, and certainly not least, don’t forget about our guys.

    Homecoming

Homecoming is the final title for this painting. The scan is phenominal, and I’ll throw a couple of closeups in here too, the dog tags as well as my sig. Beautiful piece, I’m a proud mama.

I’ll start working on a sweetie of a Calico all curled up. I’ll get her sketched out this afternoon and you can have a look at her tonight before I start painting tomorrow.

    Fundamental Romanticism

What do you guys think of that title?

I was watchin’ election stuff, sorry about the delay in getting out into the studio! Hey, for those of you who are viewing my cam in its new location, anything special you needed to do to view it? Your comments would help me figure out if/how I can help anyone who can’t get it to load. Thanks in advance!

I am going to go paint now!!!! Watch me!

These roses are INCREDIBLE. I really just want to lay my head on top of them and take a nap. They are so colorful, soft, huge, plush, and SOoOoOoO fragrant!! Enjoy.

    Wow. I’m speechless.

    They are gorgeous. Wow.

    Election Day !!

    2004

Today is going to be a long day into a late night being election day and all! I do not anticipate going to bed until well after midnight. Anyone elses nerves in a bundle today? All I want to know is that the future of my husbands tour in Iraq is going to be a safe one and that it ends as scheduled. That the Iraqi people aren’t abandoned halfway through the program by a new person who really doesn’t care. Those are just my two major concerns. 😉

So I flipped the calendar lastnight, I bought this very inspiring Flavia calendar for 2004. Here is this month’s inspirational saying:

“May we take time to give thanks for this sweet life, and for the wisdom of those who’ve helped us to see it more clearly.”r />Jay and Cocoa were having some sweet moments this morning too:

You can see more full size pics of them both here.

I plan to finish my emotional piece today, and I will need your help on a name! I have one in mind and I am really curious to see what you guys think of. Let me know, and then I’ll let you know! I do have commissions to get to though and I apologize to those on the schedule who are waiting for me to start theirs! A couple of personal notes, one for KM – I am wondering if AOL is filtering mail from my server? Let me know if you’re receiving e-mail from me. And DJ – I had e-mailed your composition and will start yours after KM’s..I know you’re busy so when you get a minute drop me a note and your thoughts on it! 🙂

Okee doke friends, the webcam is ON and will have it on again all afternoon!
