    Oops! Sorry friends!

Today just got up and ran away from me. Where on earth?! Even with an extra hour?!

We ran errands, which for some really wierd reason took a good part of the morning and early afternoon. It was so nice out, I decided to really push my luck (with my foot in a normal shoe) and go leafblowing and mowing the yard. Bah! My owie is fine, but my toes! It musta been the walking funny in the regular shoes thing. LOL

Well the front yard is pretty anyway, all spiffy for another frost, and some ssssnnnooowwww. I still have some lovelies blooming in the yard! Wanna see? Ah well you’re going to anyway. 😉

I played with my digital pics in PSP to give them more depth and contrast. I like ’em, and I hope you do, too!

So did I tell ya I got contacts? he! Ok so I’m wearing them all day today (I even got a winky-dink from a fella in a pickup truck! Wee! Thanks buddy, I needed that today!) Whoo I got sidetracked for a second there, hehe. Contacts. Yardwork. Leaf particles and dirt blowing around into the eyes. You hear what I’m sayin’? Yea they are burning pretty bad about now, so I better …

    I hate to say this…

    not paint tonight. 🙁

I blew the program. Forgive me? Ok. So, don’t forget to turn your shirt right-side-out, and vote on Tuesday, or by Tuesday (insert subliminal “for GW” here). I’m sure I’ll be here before then to remind you again. (I fibbed about the no more politics thing. Daggone us Republicans. We’re just awful.)

Baahahahhaaaa Ok I am going to get these contacts out of my eyes! Nitey nite!

I have the final scans of Mo & Cleo for you, both have been varnished and are ready to ship. I love both of them, they are beautiful animals.

I have my webcam on already. My head and heart are both in need of a major release. I’ll be working on my emotional piece, you may be able to see the sketch on the canvas and you may remember the composition. If the cam lags or anything just hop on Yahoo IM and holler at me there ok? (my ID is “intricateartist”.)

I’m going to leave the webcam on all day, and probably all night, and all day tomorrow. I’m not going to shut it off until this piece is done. I may not check back in here until then either.

Thank you. For your thoughts, prayers, and e-mails. I love you guys. (sniffles)

Here are the two beauties of the day:

    Cleo’s reference (I’ve already posted Mo’s):

    Paperwork, Politics and Painting.

I’ve been waiting for all you guys with rakes. Where have you been? I have a lotta leaves, and a gimpy foot! hehe.. no no no, Don’t feel sorry for me, the stitches come out TOMORROW! I still can’t feel my toes, but she cut 3 inches worth of surface nerves so I’m not expecting a full recovery right away.

About the leaves, I hand picked these out of the yard last weekend and they’ve dried out. I really like the one in the foreground. Green or red? It looks undecided. That’s how I feel about the season, too.

I am going to get three paintings (and a print) in the USPS system today, bon voyage, safe and speedy trips for you all! Paperwork…yes I procrastinated on the paperwork and I am procrastinating now. I will have it done by 9AM! ;P

Mark is offline now until around Thanksgiving. We hadn’t seen eachother since he got back over there (I sent him a laptop and webcam), it’s a tough situation of course so being able to see us and our home is pretty daggone hard. Well since we won’t be chatting online for a month, we kicked up the cams and jeez. I didn’t think it would be THAT hard. I think we were all bawling.

Politics: Let me just say this. I’m tired of it all! LOL What a couple of big children “No I want the job!”; “No! I want it!” … Have they thought for a second about how to actually sway people into voting their way? Perhaps something more intelligent for us to chew on, and quit the bickering and finger pointing? Sorry, my cable TV covers the swing state of Iowa, so every commercial is a political one. Thank God for the internet, I can shut the TV off and do my research online. 😀 You know that the whole thing is going to be held up in litigation for 4-6 months anyway, will we still know who our President is on Election Day? Bah! I know I’m still young to the political world, This will be only my third vote, but has it always been like this? I mean just chaos? I don’t remember all the chaos. LOL

PAINTING. Yes I’ll be working on Cleo again today. As soon as I get my “administrative” stuff done, I’ll start up the cam and let you know!

It’s Wednesday. Hump Day. Day before Stitch Removal Day. Day to do the stuff you said you were gonna do yesterday day.

    Have a good one!
    😉

    Gus – the Scan

Here’s Gus, the final scan. I didn’t make any further revisions, his Ma & Pa are happy and that’s that!

What a wierd day, a friend of mine decided to give me a mindbender of a read about John Titor. If you haven’t heard of him, he (his name being an alias) is a time traveler who seemingly very innocently visited a public forum or two while he was (here) in the year 2000-2001, he is from 2036. Wild stuff, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it if you get a chance to read! Fact or Fiction?

I woke up way too early today with way too much pain in my foot. The bruising has set in, and it’s creepy looking!! I actually began to think my foot was going to fall off. Then I failed miserably in the shower and got my bandages wet. Good grief, I’m going to get in trouble! My doc, sweet and smart and so very very thorough, has been very strict with me about helping her help me heal. And I’m a terrible patient, because I believe I know what’s best for me. :P~

I did run (not literally) to Blockbuster lastnight and pick up “Day After Tomorrow”, what a great movie! (Mark? Did you see it? Want me to send it to you?) They also had “Girl With A Pearl Earring” on sale so I snagged it up too. I read the book, haven’t seen the movie yet. I’d like to sit down with some popcorn and Pearl later tonight.

I’ll start painting my next piece tomorrow! I know Mo came in second with your pick, but I need to purr a little bit between woofs, know what I mean? So guess who I’ll paint next? 😉

Hope you are all having a great day, it’s cold, raining, and eerily too much like fall turning to winter here! IEW!!! (Anyone with a rake, you are invited to my house as soon as possible. Bring friends, and have your friends bring their rakes, too.)

    Sunday Stuff

    2004

    Hi folks,

Sorry I didn’t update yesterday, it was not a fun day! My sis left yesterday morning (pout), and I was feelin’ some discomfort so I spent a good part of the day with the leg up. Got a strong tummy? You can look at my owie without all the gauze, but be warned if you have a weak stomach!

Click here for the gross stuff!

Now I have a couple of cutsie pics too! Cocoa loves popcorn, so I made a bag and put her on the counter in front of a piece, and she was loving it..

Within moments, though, she realized the bag was just a couple of inches away!

Caption (from Dr. Doolittle) “Does my a$$ look big in this bag????”

I will be painting Gus today, I’m guessing I’ll start up the cam around 11am CST, I have to figure out how to take a shower first. LOL

    See you soon!

P.S. The benefits of bidding on my last custom pet portrait auction of the season – the top three non-winning bidders received second-chance offers at their max bid for a custom portrait of their own!

All in all, I really enjoyed the positive response from Mark’s Portrait listing. I still can’t help but sit here and literally shake my head at the thickness of the people who took the time to write negative comments though! Even after adding big bold text at the very top of my auction to clarify the purpose of the listing for those who did not “get it”, they still don’t “get it”!

The funniest one, someone wrote to ANOTHER artist to tell her that she must have been experiencing double-vision when she listed my auction. ROFL – This, from someone so many clicks away from where he started I have to wonder if he even found his way back. :O

Some folks are really, really strange. What a wild way to find that out! LOL

For Mark: Sorry honey, you know I love you with every ounce of my being; I am SO ready for this listing to end, let those negative folks find something else to hate for a while! ;P~

Head’s up! Custom Pet Portrait Auction

    2004

With the holidays coming up and a growing list of commissions as well as a couple of scheduled surgeries, my current penny/no-reserve custom pet portrait auction will be the last one of the year. I want to be sure that I will be able to get everyone’s commissions done before Christmas.

Just wanted to give you guys a couple of days notice before the auction ends, it is still low, less than my 8×10 Christmas Special pricing! Happy Bidding!

    Tuesday already?

Another warm & fuzzy about my hubby, he checks up on us every chance he gets. He knows how my auctions are doing, what I’ve written in my blog and if I’m painting live within 5 minutes of logging on. (If the connection is good, that is!) Awwwww.

I know I’m supposed to be upset/offended at the “awful awful mean person” whose intent was to make fun of Mark’s portrait, but you know I ended up having a bit of a chuckle. Whoever “added my link” obviously didn’t understand the intent, and of the thousand or more folks who viewed it yesterday I bet 90% of them understood it just fine. I did add a little text though, for those who actually thought I had the paintingat a million bucks, hopefully that will clear things up for a few folks.

Tomorrow is my pre-op appointment for my foot surgery on Friday. Yes I’m a little nervous about it, it’s not easy for me to be off my feet for any period of time! Last time I had this surgery I was off my foot for about 1/2 hour. Got up and drove myself back to work. LOL

I’m grateful that my job is one where I can prop my leg up if I need to. 😉

Today I’m either going to start working on the layout of one of my custom pet portraits, or start painting another. I’ll sketch two that don’t require layout first, and try to get the layout of the other figured out, but if there’s a delay on that one I’ll go ahead and start painting one of the first ones! Yes that’s a little confusing. There are actually 4 paintings, which I’m guessing will go in the order of (1)Dog (2)Cats (3)Dog (4)Cat. Then I’ll be working on a huge one that I am realllly excited about, (2)Cats and their Mom! That will be my first person/pet combo portrait and it’s a big one. Fun fun paintings ahead!!! 😀

    HEY ERIKIE, HAVE FUN!!!
KISSES, HUGS & A BIG HEDGE FOR YOU!
r />Ok off to “work” (hehe! work! I love my job)…
