    December
    17
    2004

Here she is! I love how she turned out. If you framed it and put it on the floor, she would probably lay in front of herself and lick the painting. LOL

It’s the proofing stage, there may or may not be changes. I’ll post the final scan when it’s ready!

Next up….CATS!!! This one is gonna be cuuuuute! Sketch ya later…

I’m going to crank up some great music, and get to adding the final layers on Sheba. Go watch! I’ll try to reposition the cam a little so you can see more of the detail work.

    See ya in the studio!

11PM CST, I’ve shut the camera down for the night and will update in the morning with either her progress shot, or I’ll just flip the cam on quick to finish her up. She’s looking really bold, so I’m excited to show you this one in scan form!!

See you when the rooster crows!

(I had a dental appt. this morning and this tylenol is NOT workin’, I have to give in and go close my eyes for a bit.) I’ll let ya know when I turn the cam back on.

UPDATE: 8:49PM CST: The girls are tucked in, and after 3 doses of extra strength tylenol over the course of the day, pain management is starting to come along alright. LOL! I’m going to paint for a little while. 🙂

    A Sock’s Secret

    December

    2004

Now I know I could get in big trouble over this, but it’s time someone let the cat out of the bag. I know what happens to the other sock. I’ve seen this guy before, on a late summer’s eve, but this time was different. Right out in the open for anyone to see, I saw him through the windows as I was driving past the laundromat. There he was, opening one of the dryers (the owner of the contents apparently indisposed) to snag a sock.

He saw me watching him with a look of confusion on my face, and turned toward me. I was a little frightened as he started lifting his finger up toward his mouth, I didn’t want him casting any wierd spells on me, or zapping me out the door or something. But no, he pressed his finger onto his lips, showed me the sock and simply said “SSsssSSssssshhhhh”..and as he tiptoed away I knew I had to paint this experience. I was up until 1AM with sis, mulling over every detail of the events of the evening. And here he is.

Hehe. 8×8 Oil on Canvas Panel, I’ll scan when it’s dry. Title: “Sock Thief”

So blogger decided I’m not good enough to edit my own entries. BAH. Here’s her work in progress shot! This is her underpainting, meaning I will be painting another layer on top of this one tomorrow to lighten, deepen and refine every little mark on her.

Sheba Painting on Webcam : Day 2!

    2004

I’ve just turned on my webcam and will begin painting that “oooo skeery!” underpainting of Sheba in just a few minutes. Wanna watch? (Then clickie on the word “webcam”, or load up Yahoo Messenger and add “intricateartist” to your buddy list!)

Her updated WIP Pic will be right about….

    ::here::

    in just a little while!

Hey I hope you’re having a great day, and I hope you have all your shopping done! I have taken my Tylenol and will be ready for my outing into the crowds later today. ;P

P.S. I have had ooooodles of issues with blogger again. Imagine that? Hm. It won’t be long before I don’t have these problems anymore, but they’re annoying all the same. If you have problems commenting or anything, that’s the deal. It’s just not connecting properly and I’m having to do back-end gook to get it to work.

    Eggnog Cookies!

    December

    2004

    (repeat post November 15, 2005)

If you like eggnog, and you’ve never had these cookies, make them. You’ll thank me for it. Please don’t spike the batter. I cannot be held responsible for irresponsible behavior. LOL 😉

1 c. butter softened to room temp.
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg/cinnamon or 1/4 tsp each
    1 c. eggnog!
    1 tsp. baking soda
    4 c. flour

Beat butter & sugar until it’s creamy. Add spices, nutmeg Eggnog & baking soda to butter & sugar, blend well. Add flour 2 cups at a time, mix (with mixer) until combined. Spoon onto nonstick cookie sheet, dip a cup in sugar (holiday colored sugar, sugar/cinnamon, sugar/nutmeg, your call), smoosh the dough a little – don’t flatten them. Bake at 375 for right around 11 minutes, when you can see the bottom edges are golden brown.

Pour a glass of brandy. Chase warm cookies with brandy. MmmMMmMMmmmGood! (I didn’t try that part, I am just imagining. heh!)

    Painting Sheba on Webcam!

    2004

I’ll be painting the background on this piece in just a few minutes. You can watch me here, or add me (intricateartist) to your Yahoo IM buddy list!

It’s not going to take too long, there’s really not much background, as I won’t be able to work on Sheba until it’s dry so I need to get it done first so that it can dry. 🙂

I’ll post a WIP shot afterward, right here in case you miss it!

    ::WIP pic will be here::
