  • Oooh That SWEATER!

    August

    2005

Do you remember when I Went Away? Specifically, when my friend and I shopped at Coldwater Creek, and we both oogled over this fabulous sweater until one of us gave in and bought it? Of course it wasn’t me, because (gulp) I don’t spend more than two dollars on anything I own as far as clothing is concerned.

Coldwater Creek has been sending me catalogues for over 10 years. I have sighed many the happy dreamy sigh thinking “some day, over the rainbow…” I’ll wear such wonderful fabrics with such beautiful patterns, so earthy and oh-so-soft. Some day.

Some day is now 5-7 standard shipping days away! BAAAHAHAHAAA I did it! I did it!

I bought the sweater (in turquoise). OH, and a dress, too!

    The New Improved iPod

On the way back from Catfish painting today, I started pondering shopping for an iPod. Feeling more and more out of touch with technology every day, I decided to ask Catybug if she knew what one was. Then I would know not only how “hip” she is, but how long it will be before her gifts start getting pricey!

So here’s how our conversation went:

Me: “Honey, do you know what an iPod is?”
    Her: “Yeah, why?”
Me: “Really? Well what is it?”
Her: “It’s that thing that holds your eye in place!”
Me: “Really? What makes you say that?”
Her: “I read it in a book!”
    Me: “Hm. Interesting!”

So now she wants to know what an iPod really is. And now I really don’t want to tell her, because I think that’s a really funkadelic new term for “eye socket”. I like it.

I’m a mean mom, I know, I allow my children to be misinformed purely for my own selfish entertainment.

Remember the ding? Alllll gone! Can ya see it? No? Then I did a good job. Phew. Mission accomplished.

Wanna hear something fancy? As if I’m famous or something, I get to spend an hour on Saturday signing my autograph. Yesiree bob, I have graduated from “signature” to “autograph”. I’m waaayyy famouser than I was just a couple of weeks ago. How about that! Aren’t you so glad you know me now?

    A Wink & A Smile

This pic of Catybug is a few years old, my sister and I ran across it while looking through photographs last week. It made me laugh, she is a total ham for the camera! Alright well she used to be. She’s grown into a shyness now where she really hates it when I share pics that show her or her creativity. Waaaah! She’s even telling me how to spell her nickname now! Jeesh!

I finished a custom blog illustration yesterday, and it turned out SO neat! The designer has yet to implement the illustration into the layout, so once that happens I’ll share a screenshot. I don’t like to post those until the entire project has been completed and you can see it in full context. The E.Webscapes team does have some new designs up though if you want to check them out!

Please, if you have any troubles with the code or questions about it, just lemme know!

Do you see that? There’s a ding on my catfish! Oh noooo! (And have you voted for him lately? Huh? Have ya huh? Well go on, vote!)

I noticed the ding at the VIP party a few weeks ago. Last week while my sis was in town, I took her down to Minuteman Press (my sponsor) so she could see it in person. I studied the ding, fretted over the ding, and this week I must repair the ding. I’m not happy about the ding one little bit! This coming Sunday, August 21st, the Catfish will be on auction and each one will get a permanent owner and home. My catfish will be ding free when this happens.

That, my friends, is my dingy little topic of the morning.

Oh! How could I forget, I should also find out the results of the MRI today. Wahoo! (/sarcasm) ouch.

And over here to the right you see a fine plate of food, which isn’t fast food, either! I cooked! This is Mark’s favorite home cooked meal (at the moment). It’s super easy too, because I’m a lazy cook, in case you want to try it. I marinated a couple of chicken breasts, pan fried them until the outsides were done in a stew pot (chili pot, whatever you call that thing, I’m no expert!), then followed the instructions on two boxes of PastaRoni cooking the chicken in with the noodles. Yummmmmy stuff there! We use the angel hair pasta, one parmesan and one of the herb sauce. Those little yellow pellet things on the plate? That’s corn. I’m serious! It comes in a can! Isn’t that COOL?

Okay enough horsing around, I better get back to work! Happy Monday to you!

    Cock-a-doodle-doo!

    2005

I just love this pic, it’s in my new gallery (under photography) along with some others that I haven’t shown here in my blog, and I keep looking at him but put off showing him for some reason!

Here’s a fun little tidbit, when Mark was in Iraq, I had changed my IM “chime” to a roosters crow. Every time he logged on then, there was a resounding “cock-a-doodle-doo!!!” throughout the house as I also left the speakers on full blast. Nothing was more reassuring and exciting to me than hearing that (damn) rooster crow!

Nowadays, however, not so much! If I hear a rooster crow on TV, at the zoo, wherever, I about choke on my heart for some reason. What once used to calm me is now something that I find somewhat startling and maybe even a little terrifying!

I really am that nuts. (Ask around, I’m sure any number of people can confirm that.)

So, dear friends, some of whom used to get an earful (on the phone) of crowing on occasion, how do you feel when you hear a cock doodly-doing?

    Entirely Too Early

    2005

It is. It’s entirely too early to be awake, but I am. I was up just before 6AM, hubby getting all dressed up in his studly uniform for a weekend of drill. We’ve got birthday dinner plans for him tonight, so I’m hoping he’s home in time for his steak & potatoes! 😉

I’m working today, and it’s raining, so it’s a great day to be working! Right now I’m (writing in my blog) uploading my photography to my new gallery, then for the remainder of the day I’ll be finishing up another custom blog graphic.

The MRI yesterday was really wierd, by the way. It took a half hour, that’s one noisy piece of equipment! I should have the results Monday, no later than Tuesday. I also saw my chiro lastnight and with the pain I’m having now in my back he mentioned “herniated disc”. Not official, but that’s what he said since my pain is shifting, becoming stronger on the left right where the nerve bundle comes out from the spine, and dull pain moving down the right leg now instead of the left. Hey at least I don’t walk like Egor anymore, all hunched over and dragging my leg behind me! Now I kindof stand up straight and just have wierd spasms every now and again. Jeez it sucks to get old!!

With that, I’m going to get back to work! Hope your weekend is off to a great start!
